That is amazing that they had that much mercury.  it is great how "green" awareness is changing so many things.

Yvette, any organization that is going green in my book is a good one!

KEVIN - Yep, 65,000lbs is a tremendous amt of mercury!  You would think that they could replace that with something else by now...mercury has always been bad!

HI GARY! I agree, especially a health care facility!

Enjoy your day!

Yvette - this is a great story. The is no doubt that we all need pitch in and be more environmentally conscious. Mercury in many areas has poisoned our local waters and trace amounts are in all species of fish we eat.

Yvette,

I am a Virginia boy, from Franklin if you know where that is. I love Williamsburg. And your localism posts are terrific.

The cardinal is a nice touch, not everyone will know the reference. It might make for a good post to explain the cardinal.

I flagged your post of reciprocity. Good luck.

This is great news... it takes an amazing quantity of energy to run hospitals... and, they have a multitude of things on their "to do" list. I'm glad this hospital has made such a commitment- hopefully others will follow.

That's great.  I hope other hospitals around the country follow suit.
