QUEENS LAKE
Queens Lake is a beautiful community in the Mid-Atlantic Region, connected to Williamsburg Virginia by a five minute scenic drive on the Colonial Parkway. It is bordered by Queens Creek to the North and West, and the Colonial Parkway to the South. It's Eastern Border is New Quarter Park. a 545-acre county park renovated in 2005.
The amenities in Queens Lake include:

The pride of Queens Lake is the swim team, the Queens Lake Eagles. In 2002, Queens Lake received the York County "Neighborhood of the Year" award in the category of Beautification. In 2006, it received the same award in the category of Neighborhood Cooperation and Spirit.
There are 4 (active MLS listings) homes for sale in Queens Lake. They range from the mid $400K - $960K. From May 1, 2008 to July 27, 2008, there have been 4 homes sold, 2 homes pended and 1 currently under contract according to the Williamsburg MLS.

Learning is fun & it's free at the WILLIAMSBURG LIBRARY!
There are two different reading programs for those who live in Williamsburg, James City or York Counties. Children from birth, to those entering 5th grade and teens from age 6-12.
CATCHING THE READING BUG! 
Children from birth to those entering 5th grade get a reading log once they've been registered. Every time they read or listen to a book, OR read or listen for 30 minutes, OR read for 30 pages, you record it on their reading log.
Bring you son or daurgher to the library each week to share what they have read with staff. Each week that they come and share they will receive an incentive prize. This summer, the prize theme is BUGS! Each prize your child gets is bug-related. So far, my son has gotten a bug catcher and a jar to put them in (Yuck!). Children also get gift certificates for various local eateries. Incentives will be posted in the Summer Reading Rooms at both (Williamsburg and James City County) libraries and on the Mobile Library Services vehicles. You will also receive special prizes for completing your reading log.
WHEEL OF READING 
For the Teens (grade 6-12) record what they read in their log and get to spin the wheel for every 150 pages that you read. You can have up to 1o spins each week. Prezes will be awarded at three levels:
Tier One: $10,000-$499,000
- Tier Two: $500,000-$999,000
- Tier Three: $1,000,000 or more--Million Dollar Club--$50 Visa Card
- This does not mean that they'll get millions of dollars, but that they can participate in an auction at the end of the program and get really cool prizes!
Deal or No Deal? Additionally, you can choose to bid for specific prizes (a list will be available a few weeks before the end of the program). The highest bid will win each prize. If you do not win a prize that you bid on, you will receive the appropriate Tier level prize.
Each summer, I enroll my boys in the Summer Reading program at the Williamsburg Regional library. It's something that we all look forward to each summer! Don't live in Willimasburg, James City or York Counties? No problem!! You can come to the Williamsburg Regional library during your visit and enjoy some of the other summer programs!
